Hendrix Rehearsal Notes 29 May 2010
"It's Showtime"
First of all, happy birthday Jordan! Right before our eyes Jordan turned 12. Thanks to Jordan's family for providing giant-size cupcakes. Also, thanks to Nick Soldo for dropping off a truckload of White Castles—that was the first time I had lunch on a Saturday.
Now it's time for business. The show is finally here and the following tunes still need a little tuning up:
Mr. Bad Luck
Bold as Love
Highway Chile
Watchtower
Dolly Dagger
Rainy Day
We also need to play over the following tunes:
Purple Haze
Wind Cries Mary
Valleys of Neptune
Some pointers for all of you:
Listen to the songs over and over again this week.
Then play or sing along to the recordings.
Remember that our versions may be different.
Highlights for this week:
Dean on "Manic Depression"
Dylan Gleit with the tone, I'm sorry, I mean TONE!
Marli singing her songs and Josi's songs
Skyler and his "If 6 Was 9" band
Anthony S. drumming on "Angel"
And, of course, the birthday boy, Jordan.
Looking back, it's been a season with many more highlights and only a few setbacks. The setbacks I can count on one hand while the highlights are too numerous to mention. For me these highlights will become happy memories that I will always remember.
Thank you all for the highlights and memories. Now the real fun starts... "It's showtime!"
It truly has been my pleasure,
Ed
P.S. For those that would like to share their experience with the show, lessons, etc. there will be a friend of mine, Stephen Ott, at the Ollie's show on Saturday who will be filming testimonials. Thanks again.
